Ofrenda del dragón

El concepto nace analizando al dragón desde sus características físicas, hasta lo que simboliza o representa en la cultura oriental. Principalmente el poder, buena suerte y bondad tomando este último y haciendo una analogía con la leyenda de los cuatro dragones donde estos seres juegan con las nubes y se dan cuenta que los habitantes del pueblo no han tenido lluvia durante un tiempo, manteniendo a la población muy preocupados por la agricultura y sus vidas, a través de esto los dragones se toman la atribución de tomar el agua del mar y esparcirla a través del pueblo dándole felicidad y vida con esta ofrenda que ellos hacen.

El agua como concepto principal dentro de mi diseño lo aplico a través de la fluidez, transparencia, y vitalidad. Trabajando con pliegues y cortes en piezas que simulan estas características, pero a la vez también al dragón como un símbolo de las cascadas, ríos y el agua. y creando un accesorio que cubre el rostro de la mujer simulando el capullo de la mariposa en su metamorfosis dejando cortes en la parte frontal que deja entre ver su nueva vida.

Offering of the Dragon

The concept comes from analyzing the dragon’s physical characteristics, what it symbolizes, and what it represents in Eastern culture—mainly power, good luck, and goodness. Taking the latter, and making an analogy with the legend of the four dragons—these beings play in the clouds and realize that the villagers have not had rain for a while, keeping the population very concerned for their agriculture and their lives. Seeing this, the dragons take the seawater and spread it through the town as an offering.

Water, as the main concept in my design, is applied through fluidity, transparency, and vitality—I use the folds and cut pieces to stimulate these characteristics. The dragon is also seen as a symbol of waterfalls, rivers, and water. In creating the accessory that is covering the woman’s face, I wanted to simulate the cocoon of butterfly metamorphosis—however, leaving cuts in the front part–so as to see into one’s new life.
